Brownsburg Town Manager in a letter to residents Wednesday morning outlined the towns response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the most recent guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and the State of Indiana, Brownsburg Town Hall, Brownsburg Parks administrative office, and field offices will close to the public effective Wednesday, March 18 to Monday, April 13, 2020 to protect against the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
Town staff will continue to report for work and essential services will continue to be delivered. Residents with issues that need a response from Town staff can continue to use the Action Center on the Town’s website, www.brownsburg.org.
Through May 17, the Town will waive utility late fees and will not disconnect customers’ utility services. The customer service window at the rear of Town Hall will be open through at least April 13. As previously communicated, utility customers are asked to make payments via mail or by using the drop box at the rear of Town Hall. Online and pay-by-phone payments also continue to be available with a service fee charged by our third-party vendor. Customers are encouraged to sign up for ACH automatic payments for their convenience. More details are available on the Town’s website or customers can call the Utility Billing Office at 317-852-1102.
Only Town Council, board, or commission meetings that are essential to ensure the Town is able to continue to provide services will be held during this time. The March 19 Park Board meeting, the March 23 Plan Commission, and the April 2 Economic Development Commission meetings will be canceled. Town Council will meet to conduct business as necessary. Because the State of Indiana requires Town Council to meet in person to conduct business and hold meetings open to the public, we ask that only those essential to conducting council business attend. All other interested persons can watch meeting videos online via the Town’s website (http://brownsburgin.swagit.com/live). The Town will evaluate the need for future meeting cancellations.
Those with business to conduct with the Town’s Development Services Department should submit applications electronically. Permit applications, as well as Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission forms are available via the website. The department has notified current applicants and is currently conducting necessary meetings with applicants via conference call. Inspections will be conducted with fewer than 10 people in attendance. Applicants can continue to reach staff via email at developmentservices@brownsburg.org or call 317-852-1128.
Eaton Hall is closed to the public through April 13. No exercise classes or other activities will be held in the space at this time. Rentals will be issued a refund by the Town Manager’s office.
Brownsburg Parks programs and activities are canceled through April 13. B.A.S.E. Spring Break Camp is canceled and enrolled users will be credited the full amount. Bundy Lodge rental is discontinued until further notice. Those with rentals through April 13 will be contacted regarding their refund. Outdoor parks will remain open but the public is encouraged to practice social distancing and proper handwashing. Residents are asked not to visit parks if they are sick.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt originally scheduled for April 4 at Arbuckle Acres is canceled. It will not be rescheduled. The Town of Brownsburg will evaluate the need to postpone or cancel other Town-hosted events.
The Town of Brownsburg will review and assess these actions on April 13, 2020 to decide if such action shall be extended. Please contact Brownsburg Town Hall with any questions or concerns you may have regarding COVID-19 or the actions taken above.
