Conservation Effort to Benefit Pollinators

Indiana is partnering with seven other states in an effort to boost conservation benefits that focus on monarch butterflies and other wildlife.

The multi-state Regional Conservation Stewardship Program encourages landowners to establish monarch-friendly plantings along with other enhancements to control brush and weeds and protect them from pesticides; and improving grazing systems.

Conservation Stewardship Program funds are available in Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, although the application deadline is Aug. 9.

For more information, contact Jerod Chew, district conservationist, (317) 745-2555, ext. 3.
