INDIANAPOLIS (September 18, 2018) – With Election Day fast approaching, Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson is hosting Candidate Schools around the state prior to the November 2018 General Election.
These informational meetings will cover important cybersecurity principles and detail methods campaigns can protect themselves from cyberattacks and hacking attempts. They will also discuss campaign finance and general election information for candidates, campaign staff and local party officials. This school will make sure candidates have all the necessary information to get through to Election Day.
“I understand the demands of the campaign cycle. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to help candidates prepare for the next two months,” said Secretary Lawson. “Candidate Schools help new candidates understand the basics of cybersecurity and campaign finance, while providing a refresher to veteran candidates.”
