INDOT Kicks Off Pothole Blitz on Interstates across Central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has kicked off a day and night pothole blitz for the next several days to address the rising number of potholes on the interstates. Multiple crews will be out addressing the following interstates:

   I-65

  • From 38th Street collector to County Line Road
  • Night time operation

   I-69

  • From Binford Boulevard to the State Road 37
  • Night time operation

   I-70

  • From Post Road to SR 267
  • Night time operation

   I-465/I-865

  • Around the entire inner and outer loops
  • Day time operation

After addressing the interstates, crews will move to filling potholes on interstate ramps.

INDOT wants to remind the public to slow down and allow crew members to work when filling potholes. Lane restrictions may be needed, so we ask the public to be cautious when driving near a crew filling a pothole.

The public can report a pothole 24/7 by visiting www.indot4u.com or calling 855-INDOT4U (463-6848). When reporting a pothole, INDOT will need the following information:

  • The name of the county
  • The state road number
  • The mile marker or nearest cross road
  • The direction of travel and which lane the pothole is located

Last year, INDOT dedicated more than 155,000 employee man hours, used more than 12,200 tons of material, and spent $5.7 million on pothole repairs.
