Putnamville Troopers Busy with Friday’s Snow and Ice Related Calls

Putnamville—Friday, from 6:00a.m. until 6:30p.m. this evening, troopers responded to (20) slide-offs; (13) property damage crashes; (2) minor injury crashes; and (5) disabled vehicles.

The concentrated area of problems was Interstate 70 between the 37mm and the 45mm (Putnam County). There were intermediate lane closures for crash cleanup and removal of wreckage in this area.

State Road 59 was closed near Mansfield in Parke County for about an hour. A truck and fifth wheel trailer loaded with building supplies was stranded across the road.

The overwhelming cause of these incidents were motorists driving too fast for conditions.
