Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement after voting for H. Res. 676, a resolution expressing support for Iran’s citizens and condemning the Iranian government’s use of violence on protesters:
“It’s important for freedom-loving countries around the world to stand with the Iranian people in their pursuit of reform and protection of basic human rights. Today’s vote sends a clear message to the Iranian regime that America supports the citizens of Iran and their right to free expression.”
