I-70 Lane Restrictions Begin the first of April in Vigo County

INDOTVIGO COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announce I-70 will be restricted to 12 ft. in both the eastbound and westbound lanes beginning on or after Monday, April 4. The contractor will have the right lane closed in each direction between the six and nine mile marker while working on the bridges over U.S. 41.  This restriction will last through the end of November of this year.

Superior Construction Co. was awarded this bridge deck replacement project on I-70 for $6.9 million.  This project includes replacing the decks on both bridges over U.S. 41 and Thompson Ditch and the Indiana Railroad.  The project is scheduled for completion in October of 2018.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
