Two Individuals Arrested After Long-Term Narcotics Investigation

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives, along with local and federal partners, arrest two individuals after the execution of a search warrant in the 4500 block of South Harding Street.

Indianapolis FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force (SSGTF) and Central Indiana Regional Gang Task Force (IMPD Gang Unit and Marion County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit) completed a 10 month investigation into a criminal enterprise that was suspected of importing large quantities of methamphetamine into Central Indiana.  After several months of investigative techniques, detectives secured a search warrant for a hotel room.  On July 19th, the IMPD SWAT team safely executed the search warrant without incident.  33-year-old Thomas Rexroat of Indianapolis and 36-year-old Michael Blakey of Suwanee, Georgia were located inside of the hotel room and subsequently arrested.  Rexroat and Blakey were arrested for Dealing and Possession of Methamphetamine for their alleged involvement in the on-going narcotics investigation.

Thus far in the investigation, detectives have seized:

·         Approximately 10 pounds of Methamphetamine

·         4 vehicles

·         1 stolen vehicle recovered

·         7 handguns

·         1 shotgun

·         $23,682 in cash
