One Person Dead After Single Vehicle Crash on I-70 in Hancock County

Hancock County – Emergency crews are on the scene of a single vehicle roll over crash in the east bound lanes of I-70 near the 113 mile marker, which is the Hancock County and Henry County line. This crash occurred around 11:40 this morning. There were two occupants in the vehicle both of which were ejected, one person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The second person in the car sustained serious injuries and a medical helicopter has been called.

The eastbound lanes of I-70 are closed at this time. The lanes are expected to remain closed for the next hour while the crash is investigated and the scene is cleared up. Drivers traveling eastbound on I-70 should exit on SR 9 in Greenfield, follow SR 9 south to US 40, go east on US 40 to SR 109 then back north to I-70. The westbound lanes remain open however drivers should expect delays and use caution near the crash scene for emergency personnel in the area.

This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information available at this time. More information will be released once the family of the deceased has been notified.
