Indiana Blood Center asks Indiana residents to donate

The Indiana Blood Center is asking Indiana residents to visit one of its donor centers around the state as soon as possible. This past Monday, the Indiana Blood Center had only 700 units of blood on the shelves — less than a one-day supply. Normal inventory levels average about 2,000 units daily. O positive, O negative and B negative units are backordered and all other types are dangerously low.

Locations in Hendricks County can be found at Hendricks Regional Health in Plainfield, 1100 Southfield Dr. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first and third Friday of every month. The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA, 301 Satori Parkway, Avon, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. To make an appointment at either location, call 317-916-5150.

Other donor center locations can be found in Carmel, Fishers, Greenwood, Lafayette, Terre Haute, Columbus, Kokomo, Muncie, Anderson and Shelbyville.
