Veteran Farmer Video Featured at Soil & Water Conservation District Annual Meeting

A new video highlights how veterans transitioning to farming can be helped by the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Soil & Water Conservation Districts.

The video will be shown during the Hendricks County SWCD annual meeting Jan. 28.

The 6 p.m. meeting at the county fairgrounds includes an address by Jeffrey Dukes, director of the Purdue University Climate Change Research Center.

Meeting tickets for $5 cover a catered meal by Lizton’s Rusted Silo, and can be purchased at the district office, 195 Meadow Dr. in Danville, or at the door.

The annual meeting also will see district supervisor elections and awards given for outstanding conservation efforts.

Call the SWCD office at (317) 745-2555, ext. 3, or email Marlene.raisor@in.nacdnet.net.
