Two Teens Charged in the Shooting of a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy

INDIANAPOLIS…On December 3,2018 The Marion County Prosecutors Office Filed Charges against Brandon Nickens and Javentay Chapman for their involvement in the shooting of Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputy David Clemmons.

Brandon Nickens has been named as the person who shot MCSO Deputy David Clemmons during a Robbery Attempt on December 1, 2018 at the I Hop Restaurant at 6901 W. 38th Street in Indianapolis.

Brandon Nickens has now been charged with Attempted Murder and Attempted Robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

Javentay Chapman

Javentay Chapman has been charged with Attempted Robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and Battery by means of a deadly weapon.

A charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
