Truck Driver Loses Control after Erratic Driving of Passing Car in Clay County

Clay County—Saturday morning, July 28 at approximately 3:03, Indiana State Police responded to the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 24 mile marker for a truck crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed an unknown passenger car allegedly veered erratically into the driving lane, forcing the driver of a Budget Rental Truck to travel off the right side of the roadway, overcorrect, and travel back across both westbound lanes into the median impacting trees.

The driver, 43-year-old Antoine Leonard, and passenger Travon Ritchie suffered small cuts from glass, but refused treatment at the scene. The duo was en route to California.

The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Brad Fyfe. Assisting were Posey Township Fire/Rescue and Camps Wrecker Service.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
