Single vehicle crash near Brownsburg sends three to the hospital

A single vehicle crash near Brownsburg Sunday morning sent three people to the hospital including one person described as sustaining life-threatening injuries.

In a release by the Hendricks County Sherriff’s Department, deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on County Road 1000E south of 56th Street near Brownsburg around 11:11 Sunday morning. A preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle, a 1957 Chevrolet wagon, was traveling southbound on County Road 1000E when it traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.  The driver and two additional occupants were transported from the scene to Indianapolis hospitals.

The driver, Dominick Lagana, 34, of Scarsdale, NY sustained life-threatening injuries during the crash.  Passengers, Richard Crampton, 40, of Brownsburg and Jacob Sanders, 30, of Brownsburg, sustained what appear to be non life-threatening injuries at this time.

Crash reconstructionists from the Sheriff’s Office are investigating the collision, but preliminarily, speed is believed to be a factor.
