New Executive Director Named to Lead the Avon Education Foundation

Amanda Babinec

Avon, IN (March 26, 2020) – The Avon Education Foundation (AEF) Board announced that Amanda Babinec will take the helm as its new Executive Director. She began her new role March 16, 2020.

Mrs. Babinec brings strong non-profit leadership and marketing experience into this position.

Prior to joining AEF, she served as the Executive Director for the Avon Junior Athletic Association (AJAA) and as the Marketing and Business Development Manager for the Simon Property Group.  

AEF Board President, Shane Sommers said, “We are grateful to the selection committee who had the challenging task of selecting from among an extremely strong field. Mrs. Babinec’s experience, both in the business and non-profit world, made her stand out. On behalf of our all-volunteer board, we welcome Mrs. Babinec and look forward to this next chapter in AEF’s rich history of supporting our students and staff.”

“I am so honored and humbled to have the privilege of being the next Executive Director for the Avon Education Foundation,” Mrs. Babinec shared. “I attended Avon schools from kindergarten to high school graduation and now my three daughters all attend Avon schools as well.  I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for Avon and the Avon Community School Corporation.  I’m so excited to be back in the not-for-profit sector and that I get to be part of continuing to make Avon the very best that it can be.” 

Mrs. Babinec received a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. In addition to building a successful career, she has extensive volunteer experience and currently serves as an elected official on the Washington Township Board of Trustees. Mrs. Babinec and her husband Bryan reside in Avon with their three children who attend Avon Schools.
