Murder Suspect Wanted for Fatal Shooting

INDIANAPOLIS- On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 12:30 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to 525 North Rural St. in response to a caller stating someone had been shot. There were other calls made around this time from citizens who heard shots fired in the area.  Responding officers located a person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim later identified as 39-year-old Byron Miller.  Miller was transported to an area hospital, despite the best life-saving efforts by medical staff, the victim died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives have worked tirelessly on this case and now suspect 43-year-old Perise Fowler to be responsible for the fatal shooting. A warrant for Murder has been issued for the arrest of Perise Fowler. Homicide Detectives are seeking the community’s help in locating Perise Fowler.  Fowler should be treated as armed and dangerous.  Please do not approach him, immediately call 911.

A charge of a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
