ISP Participates in the Great Lakes Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Initiative

Indiana, – Recently, Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division troopers, Motor Carrier Inspectors, and MCSAP qualified troopers participated in an enforcement project with our surrounding state commercial vehicle divisions.

Formerly known as the Tri-State Commercial Vehicle Initiative, the name has been changed to reflect the addition of Illinois to the already participating states of Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

The goal of the project was to educate and prepare commercial motor vehicle drivers for winter driving dangers by concentrating the enforcement on traffic violations and Level 3 inspections, which focuses on the driver and their paperwork.

The partnership enforcement area concentrated on major interstates and US highways common to adjoining states.
