INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred just before 7:00 AM today in the 2600 block of North Bazil Avenue. The victim is identified as 21-year-old Alexis Gomez.
At the time of the murder, it appears the residents and visitors in the home were sleeping when they were awakened by a loud noise. Following the noise, Mr. Gomez exited his room and stated he thought he had been shot. Following this statement, Mr. Gomez collapsed and 911 was called. Mr. Gomez was transported to Eskenazi Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
IMPD detectives are continuing to investigate this case and anyone with information is encouraged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
