IMPD Homicide detectives make arrest in east side murder

INDIANAPOLIS Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives have arrested Ernest White (32) for his alleged involvement in the death of Anthony Eldridge (35), that occurred on 06/17/2018.

On Sunday, June 17, 2018, just before 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Brentwood Drive and Essex Court to check the area reference a possible person shot.  When officers arrived they began canvassing the neighborhood.  While canvassing officers located an open doorway of a vacant apartment.  Officers checked the apartment and found an adult male who appeared to have been shot.  Officers called for the assistance of the Indianapolis EMS who responded and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

IMPD Homicide Detectives responded and began canvassing the area for evidence and speaking with potential witnesses. Through the course of their investigation, detectives were able to identify and arrest White as allegedly being involved in the death of Eldridge. White was preliminarily charged with murder and was later transported to City-County Building lock-up for processing. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a charging decision.
