I-65 southbound will close Sunday night in Boone County at State Road 47 for Repairs

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announce I-65 southbound will close on Sunday, November 7 at 9 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday, November 8. The U.S. 52 eastbound on ramp to I-65 southbound will close as well during this time.

Traffic will be diverted off the interstate at State Road 47 (Exit 146) to S.R. 39 and back to I-65. This is for the contractor to repair three broken concrete panels on the interstate near the 141 mile marker. This is in the work zone of the added travel lanes project on the south end where there is insufficient width to keep one lane open to make the repairs.

Indiana State Police will be assisting INDOT and the contractor with this closure.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
