Coats: Democrats Should Allow Up-or-Down Vote on Iran Deal

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today spoke on the Senate floor and called on Senate Democrats to allow an up-or-down vote on the resolution of disapproval on President Obama’s Iran deal.

Coats cited the lack of information about Iran’s secret deals with the International Atomic Energy Agency as a reason why Congress should not support the president’s agreement.

“Who possibly could enter into any contractual agreement without requiring access to side agreements?” said Coats. “Who would lease a car, who would buy a house, who would enter into any contractual arrangement with someone who said oh, by the way, there’s some secret stuff here, but I can’t let you see what it is?
