Arrest made in social media threats against Perry Meridian High School

INDIANAPOLIS – Investigators have arrested a 15-year-old male for his alleged involvement in a threat against Perry Meridian High School.

On January 10, 2016, IMPD investigators were notified of a threat of violence against Perry Meridian High School. These threats were posted by an unknown individual on Twitter and Instagram.  Through investigative techniques, investigators were able to identify a 15-year-old student of Perry Meridian High School as the sole suspect in these online threats.  The suspect was questioned by investigators and released to his parents as the investigation continued.

On January 13, 2016, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the 15-year-old suspect.  The delinquent acts alleged in this case include Intimidation as a Level 6 Felony and False Reporting as Level 6 Felony. The juvenile surrendered to investigators yesterday afternoon and was taken into custody without incident. No booking photo for the juvenile will be released at this time. He is currently being held at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.
