INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel are proud to join Indiana Pork to bring back the popular “Garbage Burger”, to benefit Feeding Indiana’s Hungry (FIsH).
The Garbage Burger, a ground pork burger topped with pulled BBQ pork, will be available throughout Indiana Farmers Coliseum during all remaining Fuel home games in the 2017-18 season. For every Garbage Burger sold, Indiana Pork will donate one meal to Feeding Indiana’s Hungry.
“We are excited to once again showcase the Garbage Burger at the Indy Fuel games,” said Jeanette Merritt, Director of Checkoff Programs for Indiana Pork. “The Garbage Burger is a popular item on our Indiana State Fair menu and we expect Fuel fans will enjoy it as well. We are also happy to donate proceeds to Feeding Indiana’s Hungry for every sandwich sold. Indiana hog farmers are very generous with donations to their local food pantries. Our farmers are happy to help those in need whenever we can.”
“The Indy Fuel are proud to team up with Indiana Pork once again this season, and are excited that the Garbage Burger is back on the menu at Indiana Farmers Coliseum,” said Brent Hollerud, Director of Marketing of the Indiana Hockey Club. “The feedback we received since introducing the Garbage Burger last year has been nothing but positive. Our fans have loved having another option to choose from when dining at the game, and the fact that the burger helps give back to the Central Indiana makes it even better.”

About FIsH: On June 7, 2005, National Hunger Awareness Day, Indiana Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman announced the state’s support of the newly formed state food bank association, Feeding Indiana’s Hungry. Created to maximize public-private partnerships that link hunger service providers, food producers and processors from around the state, the partnership enables food and funding resources to be more effectively identified and coordinated to better serve Hoosiers in need.
