Indianapolis, IN — The Indiana State Fairgrounds Presents: Christmas Nights of Lights returns to the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, bringing one of the most popular holiday traditions in Indianapolis back for another season. The drive-thru light show will run from November 7 through December 31, featuring more than one million LED lights synchronized to classic holiday music.
“This event continues to be a favorite for Hoosiers across Indiana,” says LeRoy Lewis III, Director of Community & Media Engagement. “We’re excited to add new elements this year that make the show even more memorable.”
New Event Highlights:
- Three giant RGB Christmas trees with thousands of color-changing lights creating a dazzling new centerpiece
- The 180-foot-long Cosmic Wall of Lights
- Life-sized Nativity and Candyland scenes
- A patriotic giant American Flag display
The display includes over 1 million lights and over 19 miles of wire. The 2.1 mile route will take visitors through a display that is run by 225 computers and includes a 300-foot tunnel lined with nearly 10,000 lights.
This year’s display has been enlarged to include three new RGB trees to add more color, rhythm and depth to the show. Guests can enjoy the 2.1-mile route featuring tunnels, displays, and choreographed lights set to holiday music.
The show not only serves for many as a family tradition and excellent way to begin their holiday season, but also benefits multiple charities throughout the season. Discounted tickets purchased between November 7th and November 22nd will support local non-profits.
Cindy Hoye, Executive Director, Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, noted that the show has become a family tradition for many along with benefitting local charities.
“Christmas Nights of Lights has become one of Indiana’s favorite traditions. It’s more than a light show; it’s a celebration of family, community, and the spirit of the season. We’re proud to host an event that brings so much joy while supporting local charities that make a real difference.”
A show this large and covering so much of the Indiana State Fairgrounds is no small task according to Ray Allison, Chief Operating Officer.
“Christmas Nights of Lights is a major undertaking that requires months of coordination and precision. Our team takes great pride in delivering a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for every guest who visits the Fairgrounds.”
Bringing new elements to the show each season is a priority for Director of Entertainment and Events, Jessica Henchel.
“Our goal each year is to bring something fresh for returning guests while keeping the magic that people love. The new RGB trees and expanded displays add even more excitement to a show that already means so much to our community.”
There are 14 Charites this season that visitors can designate when purchasing tickets online and using the appropriate discount codes.
