Driver Injured Over the Weekend After Striking Utility Pole in Vigo County

Vigo County—Saturday morning at 11:59, Indiana State Police and Vigo County emergency agencies responded to US 40 near Hunt Road for a one vehicle crash. 

user29410-1459628426-media1Preliminary investigation revealed a red 2004 Chevrolet, driven by 64-year-old Harold R. Frey of Terre Haute, IN., was westbound on US 40 and traveled left of center across the eastbound lanes. The red Chevrolet continued off the south side of the roadway and into a utility pole. 

Frey was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital by Trans Care EMS for multiple life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued as a medical issue may have been a contributing factor in the crash. 

The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Jason Schoffstall. Assisting were Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Lost Creek Township Fire/Rescue, Trans Care EMS, and Edington’s Wrecker Service.
