A well-known figure in the Hendricks County business community has taken a role in the public sector.
Dana Cochran, former marketing director at Hendricks Power Cooperative, was sworn in as a new member of the Lincoln Township Board earlier this month.
She was elected to the post at a special caucus on March 15th and sworn in on April 6th at the county government center.
She replaces Mark Tieken, who is now a member of the Brownsburg Town Council.
Cochran said this week that she was looking forward to the challenges her new role would provide. She said she had always been engaged in public service, but decided timing was favorable for her to serve in public office.
The Kansas native, who had worked in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, moved to the Brownsburg area in 2002.
While she is excited to represent her community, she’s not leaving her business career within the utility industry. Cochran recently left Hendricks Power Cooperative for a new position with MISO Energy.
