Miami/ Fulton Counties – Two recent narcotic investigations by members of the CLEAN Team resulted in five people being arrested on various drug related charges.
Last Monday, an investigation by the CLEAN Team resulted in the arrests of Keyt Austin, 22, and Ciavardoni, Brandon, 21, both from Rochester, IN. Officers started an investigation after receiving a tip about suspected marijuana dealing. The investigation led to officers obtaining a Fulton Circuit Court search warrant for Brandon’s residence at 4684 North State Road 25, Lot 17 Rochester, IN. During their search, officers allegedly found marijuana and $1,845 in United States currency. Austin allegedly had prescription medication on his person. Both men were incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail. Austin faces criminal charges for possession of a scheduled II narcotic and visiting a common nuisance. Brandon faces criminal charges for dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Last Wednesday, members of the CLEAN Team were at an apartment building on 472 East Washington Street, Peru, IN searching for a suspect in an ongoing investigation. Officers heard what sounded like an argument coming from Apartment B. Officers went to Apartment B to check the welfare of the occupants. Officers were allowed inside the apartment by a female, later identified as Diana Sears, 57, the renter of the apartment. Officers allegedly smelled an odor of marijuana and observed marijuana in the apartment. Officers also found prescription medication inside the residence. Robert Alspach, 23, Marion, IN, and Larry Alspach, 53, Peru, IN were also in the apartment. Larry Alspach was found to allegedly have marijuana, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia on his person.
All three were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. Sears faces charges for possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Robert Alspach faces two criminal charges for possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance. Larry Alspach faces charges for possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and visiting a common nuisance.
The CLEAN Team is a task force with 11 law enforcement entities that have dedicated resources to fight narcotics in Fulton and Miami Counties. CLEAN stands for Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics. The main focus of the task force is narcotics enforcement with an emphasis on methamphetamine related crimes.
