Indiana Department of Child Services Appoints Pam Knight Field Manager

INDIANAPOLIS (January 14, 2016)The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) has appointed Pam Knight the new field manager for the Department. In her new role, Knight will have oversight of the DCS Institutional Unit, the pilot Sobriety Treatment and Recovery TeamsPam Knight w Cap

(START) Program and will also continue to work with the Central Fatality Team. 

“Pam’s extensive first-hand experience in the field, her research and investigation with the fatality team, and her years as a local office manager has given her the necessary skills and vision for this position,” said Jane Bisbee, DCS’ deputy director of Field Operations. “We are pleased to have her in this new role.”  

Knight is a native Hoosier, born and raised in Wabash, Indiana.  

Knight started her DCS career in October 2000 as a Family Case Manager (FCM). She was a FCM until January 2005 when she accepted a DCS training position in Staff Development. She remained in that position until 2007 when she was promoted to Local Office Director (LOD) in Hancock County and then as the LOD in Madison County from 2011 – 2013. She then took a position with the Central Office Fatality Unit in 2013 and was in that position until her appointment to Field Manager. 

Knight has a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Indiana University, and participated in the DCS MSW Program. She is also a graduate from the Department’s Child Welfare Innovations Institute. 

She began her new duties December 21, 2015 and will be based out of the DCS Central office located at 302 W. Washington St., Room E306 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
