On 02/01/2019 just before 9:30pm, Indiana State Police Sgt. Greg Day was participating in a criminal patrol with other A.C.E.S. Troopers when he observed a license plate violation on a 2002 Jeep Cherokee. Sgt. Day conducted the traffic stop on Patton Hill Road, near SR 37. During the course of the stop, Sgt. Day detected indicators of criminal activity and requested Trp. Richard Klun and his canine, Loki, to respond to the traffic stop.

Trooper Klun deployed Loki, who gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics in the Jeep. Troopers located 4.8 ounces (135.5 grams) of methamphetamine, scales, baggies, and drug paraphernalia.
