Troopers Recover Stolen Gun

Parke County– Tuesday morning members of the Indiana State Police Scuba Team located a stolen ISP firearm thanks to community tips.

At approximately 11:05 this morning, ISP Scuba members recovered the Sig Sauer P227 that was stolen from a Troopers’ vehicle on November 5th. During the investigation, ISP received several tips of possible locations of the firearm. ISP Scuba members searched Big Raccoon Creek near Rosedale for nearly 3 hours. The search ended when ISP Sergeant Chris Lambert located the stolen firearm. The firearm was then secured and transported to the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post for evidence.

The case is being investigated by Indiana State Police Detective Don Curtis. Assisting at the scene were ISP Sergeant Chris Lambert, Sergeant Kris Fitzgerald, Detective Mike Taylor, Trooper Mike Eland, Trooper Chris Lockman, Trooper Andrew Taylor, and Trooper Dave Ploog.
