IMPD Narcotics Detectives execute search warrants resulting in substantial narcotics seizure

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) seize substantial amount of narcotics, three firearms, and arrest 8 people, with the assistance of Indiana State Police and several specialty units.

On August 9, 2018, IMPD Downtown and Northeast Narcotics Units and Flex Teams, Metro Drug Task Force, IMPD K-9 Units, IMPD and Indiana State Police SWAT teams, served two search warrants simultaneously in the 2800 block of N Gladstone. Once the houses were secured Detectives and Officers located/seized: $16,600 in cash, approximately 20lbs of Synthetic Cannabis/Spice, 6 pounds of Marijuana, 10 Grams of Heroin, 50 pills of suspected Ecstasy, Electronic Scales, 2 cars for Forfeiture, and 3 Loaded Handguns, one of which was determined to be stolen.

IMPD Detectives arrested the following people:

  1.  Chester Irons (27) who was preliminarily charged with dealing/possession of synthetic cannabis, dealing/possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a child.
  2.  Juquan Irons (25) dealing/possession of synthetic cannabis, dealing/possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a child.
  3. Gabriel West (22) visiting a common nuisance
  4. Nykia Thigfen (23) possession of synthetic cannabis, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance.
  5. Raven Faulkner (26) visiting a common nuisance
  6. Dedrick Brown (25) unlawful possession of a handgun by a felon, dealing/possession of synthetic cannabis
  7. Travon Mays (20) visiting a common nuisance
  8. Rachel Nicholson (35) maintaing a common nuisance

The Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) will review the case and make a charging decision. This was a great effort, across two districts and working with multiple teams to get dangerous narcotics off the streets of Indianapolis. The IMPD would like to thank the community for their ongoing support and efforts in helping to make Indianapolis a safer place to live, work, and play!
