BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (July 7, 2018) – The following activities will be occurring this week:
- The traffic pattern on 2nd Street (SR 45) will change on or after Saturday, July 7. There will be one lane eastbound and one lane westbound with turn lanes.
- The traffic pattern on 3rd Street (SR 48) will change on or after Friday, July 6. Traffic will move to the far outside lanes to allow crews to remove the median and construct new islands. There will be two lanes of traffic both eastbound and westbound.
- Paving operations will be taking place all week on both northbound and southbound SR 37 from the CSX railroad bridge to the Griffey Creek Bridge. Traffic will move to the far outside lane with one lane of traffic both northbound and southbound.
- There will be daily shoulder closures on the southwest ramp and northwest ramp in the SR 46 interchange to allow for the construction of light pole foundations.
- Weather permitting, on Thursday, July 12, traffic on both northbound and southbound SR 37 will shift to the outside lanes from Griffey Creek to Wylie Road for paving operations. At that time, access from Wylie Road to SR 37 will be closed. New permanent access to the highway will be via the new access road to the Sample Road interchange.
- There will be a daily single lane restriction on both northbound and southbound SR 37 from Kinser Pike to South Crossover Road to allow for paving operations. Crews will also be making median and frontage road drainage improvements, placing stone shoulders and removing construction-related median crossings.
- Traffic will move to the inside lane from Big Indian Creek to Legendary Drive to allow for drainage work on the outside shoulder of SR 37.
All construction activity is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change. Motorists are reminded that the speed limit is 45 miles per hour throughout the entire construction zone.
