Indianapolis, IN – In the overnight hours of February 9th, 2018, 13 year old retired Indiana State Police K9 Mojo passed away. Mojo’s partner of more than 11 years was Sgt. Dennis Wade.
Mojo graduated from K9 School on Christmas Eve in 2006 and was assigned to the ISP Drug Enforcement Section where he began patrolling the Indianapolis Metro Area. He was trained as a duel purpose dog to help with various police investigations. During his career Mojo is responsible for an incredible amount of seizures that include:
- 4,222 lbs of marijuana
- 3.75 lbs of methamphetamine
- 115 lbs of cocaine
- 1/4 lbs of crack
- 1.75 lbs of Heroin
- $1,985,309.00 in seized money
Mojo played a key role for more than ten years helping officers from not only the Indiana State Police but dozens of other agencies. Without question he and his partner, Sgt. Wade, helped make our communities safer.
