Hendricks County Parks & Recreation wishes to collaborate with local artists to fill the display space at the Nature Center of McCloud Nature Park in month-long rotations throughout 2018.
The parks department would like to display the artwork of community artists on the Nature Center walls and in its display cases. Exhibits can be a collection of a single artist’s works or a collection of work from multiple artists. The content should be suitable for viewing by all ages and preferably nature-related. All artistic media such as photography, sculpture, drawings, paintings, crochet, and jewelry will be considered.
McCloud Nature Park is located just outside of North Salem at 8518 Hughes Road, and the Nature Center is currently open for its winter hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Beginning March 1, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays, and beginning April 1, it will also be open on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
An entry form and liability waiver is available at www.HendricksCountyParks.org. The form can also be picked up at the Hendricks County Parks & Recreation office located at 955 E. Main Street in Danville from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Interested artists are encouraged to contact the McCloud Nature Center at mccloudnp@hcparks.net or at (765) 676-5437 with any questions.
