Indianapolis, IN – Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced to promotion of Senior Trooper Jon Caddell to the rank of Sergeant to serve as a supervisor at the Indianapolis District.
Sgt. Caddell is a native of Kokomo Indiana and a 2000 graduate of Kokomo High School. He attended Indiana University where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After college Caddell worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections for two years. In 2005 he was selected to attend the 65th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was sworn in as a trooper in April of 2006. Sgt. Caddell’s first assignment was to the Indianapolis District where he spent much of his career patrolling Marion County on midnight shift. Throughout his career Caddell has been a member of the ISP SCUBA Team, a firearms and tactics instructor, an Indiana School Safety Specialist, a Taser Instructor a Field Sobriety Instructor and a Field Training Officer. Caddell has been recognized several times for his DUI enforcement efforts, even being named Trooper of the Year for the Indianapolis District.
In his new leadership position Caddell will mentor and supervise a squad of troopers assigned to the midnight shift. Sgt. Caddell currently resides in Noblesville with his wife and two children.
