Plainfield Police Seeks the Public’s Assistance in Identifying Theft Suspects

PLAINFIELD IN.-   The Plainfield Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a theft suspect.  The Plainfield Police received a theft report by Mason Jewelry located at 1822 E. Main Street Plainfield IN. 46168 on March 9, 2019.   It was reported that on March 6, 2019 at approximately 3:09 p.m and 3:16 p.m., two high value rings were stolen from a display case inside the store. The two rings stolen had a total value of approximately $9,000.

The store owner was able to review surveillance video.  He observed an unidentified black male (wearing a black winter hat, a flannel plaid button up shirt over a white t-shirt and jeans) reach over the counter and steal a ring on two different occasions within minutes.  The suspect was able to do this while the employees were pre-occupied.  One theft occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. and the second at 3:16 p.m.  After taking the second ring, the suspect exits the business where a second unknown black male was waiting.  Both subjects then left the area in an unknown direction.
