INDOT project will improve bridge decks in Hendricks and Clay Counties

CLAY AND HENDRICKS COUNTIES, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an upcoming project to place thin deck overlays on several bridges in Clay and Hendricks Counties beginning on or after Monday, April 13.

State Road 42 Bridge over Birch Creek located approximately one mile east of State Road 59 in Clay County will have one lane closed during this work and traffic will be flagged around construction. Work is expected to last two weeks in this area, weather permitting.

Next the contractor will move to the U.S. 136 bridge over Ross Ditch located three tenths of one mile east of State Road 39 in Hendricks County will have one lane closed during this work and traffic will be flagged around construction.  

This project was awarded to CLR Inc. for $646,334. Work is scheduled to last through the middle of October of this year. This contract also includes State Road 75 over Branch Ramp Run, located three miles north of U.S. 36, Hendricks County Road 725 over I-70 and Ronald Reagan Parkway over I-74. 

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
