IMPD homicide detectives arrest suspect for alleged involvement in homicide of his sister

IMPD homicide detectives arrested 30-year-old Krystopher Monroe for his alleged involvement in the homicide of his sister.  
 
On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, just after 6:00 PM, IMPD Southwest District officers were dispatched to the 8700 block of Hosta Way on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult female who sustained injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived, and the victim was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
Monroe was still on scene when officers arrived and immediately detained him within minutes and without further incident.
 
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. Upon further investigation, Monroe was arrested for murder.
 
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will assist and determine the exact cause and manner of death. The MCCO will release the name of the decedents once a proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
  
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will make the final charging decision.

An arrest is merely an accusation.  The suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
