WYRZ Live Remote – Christmas on the Square

November 28 @ 4:00 pm 7:00 pm

DANVILLE, Ind. – One of Danville’s most treasured holiday traditions returns the day after Thanksgiving as the Downtown Danville Partnership and the Town of Danville, with sponsor Hawkeye Storage, presents the Annual Christmas on the Square & Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, November 28 from 4–7 p.m.

Downtown will come alive with the sights and sounds of the season as families gather for an evening filled with holiday cheer, twinkling lights, live entertainment, festive treats, and fun for all ages. The community can enjoy caroling, a live nativity scene, letter writing to Santa, holiday glitter tattoos, snowball fights, and the Danville Fire Department’s infamous chili. Be on the lookout for Grinch sightings and other holiday surprises, too!

The highlight of the night comes when Santa, himself, takes the stage to light the town’s Christmas tree, officially kicking off the holiday season in downtown Danville.

“This event captures everything we love about the holidays in Danville — family, community, and the magic of the season,” said a Tara Cobourn, Community & Project Coordinator of the Downtown Danville Partnership. “We’re especially excited to welcome the Children’s Entrepreneurial Market, a new activity showcasing our own young local makers and their creative spirit.”

So grab your mittens, bring your loved ones, and join the celebration as downtown Danville sparkles and shines for another unforgettable Christmas on the Square.

This event and many of the activities are available free to the community thanks to the generous support of event sponsors including Hawkeye Storage, Hendricks Regional Health, NuMedia Marketing, Ryan Homes, Winters Tax & Consulting, Staley Construction, North Salem State Bank, and The Kickstand.
