Celebrating Avon

Avon, IN— All are welcome at the Annual Celebrating Avon Festival at the Avon-Washington Township Public Library! The festival takes place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 11 a.m.—3 p.m. both inside and outside of the library. This is a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public.

There will be music provided by 98.9 WYRZ, food available for purchase, games for kids, and City Ranch Petting Zoo! Kevin Stonerock will give a performance at 11:30 a.m. on the Centennial Stage outside the library called, “A Visit with a Hoosier Pioneer.” Walk along the “Pioneer Path” which showcases local artisans and includes woodworking, bee-keeping, rosemaling, drop-spinning, pottery, printmaking, glass blowing, and more!  The festival will also have antique tractors, model trains, a K9 demonstration from Avon Police Department, a giant inflatable slide, and of course a candy drop by Hendricks Power Cooperative!

We will Ring the bell to kick-off the event at 11 a.m. Please join us inside the library at 11:15 a.m. as we honor two special “Everyday Heroes,” Sue and Steve Pearl. Play putt-putt and check out an antique petting zoo in the Huron Room. The Friends of the Library’s Bookstore will be open on the lower level of the library, as well.

Parking is available at the library, 498 N. Avon Ave., Avon, IN 46123. Registration is not required, and you don’t need a ticket to attend.
