Indianapolis, Ind. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly participated in the Pioneer Village Demonstration at the Indiana State Fair for his latest “Donnelly Day.” The event highlighted the evolution of farming in Indiana and coincides with the state’s bicentennial.
Donnelly tried his hand wheat cutting and shocking, wheat threshing using a steam-powered threshing machine, corn-shelling, and hay baling. Indiana Farm Bureau President Randy Kron and members of Indiana’s FFA joined Donnelly during the activities.
Launched in August 2014, “Donnelly Days” are an ongoing series of events, where the Senator works alongside Hoosiers in a variety of jobs and professions in communities across Indiana to gain a greater understanding of the issues most important to Hoosier workers.
