Carmel Mayor Lifts Curfew Order

CARMEL, IN – Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard has lifted the Executive Order 2020-08, which established a 9 p.m. curfew yesterday, June 2, 2020.  While the curfew is lifted, this does not affect the Disaster Emergency Declaration issued on June 1, 2020. That Declaration remains in place, which will allow the mayor to take swift action to protect the community from any threats of civil unrest.

“After conferring this afternoon with the Police Chief, I feel that we can safely lift the restrictions on travel throughout the community. However, I will not hesitate to reissue a curfew if the need arises. I appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the community as we navigate this new territory together,” said Mayor Brainard.
