Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Plainfield

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at approximately 12:17 PM, Plainfield units were notified of a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-tractor trailer at the intersection of Ronald Reagan Parkway and Airtech Parkway.

Scene investigation indicates that a motorcycle traveling in the right lane of southbound Ronald Reagan Parkway collided with a semi-tractor trailer that was turning left from the turn lane of northbound Ronald Reagan Parkway onto westbound Airtech Parkway. Plainfield Police were on the scene approximately one minute after the call was dispatched and provided CPR to the male driver of the motorcycle who was then transported by medics to Eskenazi Hospital with head injuries. The driver of the motorcycle had not been wearing a helmet and was later pronounced dead by the Marion County Coroner. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer had no injuries and is cooperating with the investigation.

The cause of this crash is still under investigation. The names of both drivers are being withheld until all next of kin have been notified.
