(INDIANAPOLIS) – Schmidt Associates took home the highest honor of the Monumental Award for the P.R. Mallory Campus project at the Indy Chamber’s annual Monumental Awards event tonight. This year’s ceremony took place at historic Tibbs Drive-In Theater on the west-side of Indianapolis, providing a COVID-friendly way to showcase this year’s submissions for excellence in the built environment. The award ceremony recognizes the most significant achievements by individuals and businesses that contribute to excellence in architecture, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, construction, real estate development, neighborhood revitalization, innovate reuse and public art throughout the Indianapolis region.
“The P.R. Mallory Campus project is a prime example of what innovative reuse in the Indianapolis Region can be. The Monumental Award winner captures the beauty of bold design, while keeping the historic value of the building’s industrial past,” stated Justin Ferguson, Lead Strategist, BHDP Architecture and Chairman of the Monumental Awards Committee. “The P.R. Mallory Campus has always been home to pioneers, and the Indianapolis community should be thrilled that this tradition will continue with this innovative campus.”
