IMPD Homicide Detectives make an arrest in late August murder

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives have identified and arrested Titus Dunn (40) for his role in the death of Donald Morris (26) that occurred on 08/20/2018.

Just after 10 p.m. on 08/20/2018, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 5100 blk of W Washington St on reports of a body found. Responding officers located an unresponsive male victim behind a shopping center in a wooded area. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.  

Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. Detectives discovered that the victim suffered from undisclosed trauma. During the course of their investigation, they developed probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for murder, for Titus Dunn. Detectives put out information that Dunn was wanted for murder and then received information on his whereabouts, at which time detectives and officers were able to quickly apprehend him.

The quick arrest of the suspect after information was released that the he was wanted for murder is another testament to what is possible when the police and community work together. It also shows the criminal element that violence will not be tolerated in Indianapolis and that the police and community will work together to locate those responsible so that they may face the justice system.
