Hendricks County – One of the best ways to prevent substance use and addiction among young people is by supporting families, strengthening the bonds between parents and their children.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Connecting youth to caring adults and activities helps to ground them, improve their engagement in school, and establish positive networks and experiences. It is an important preventive strategy to buffer against parental absence or other difficulties at home, frequent moves, and exposure to negative influences at school and in the community.”
In order to provide an opportunity like this for Hendricks County families to connect and have fun together this winter, the Hendricks County Substance Abuse Task Force and Brownsburg Bowl are partnering to offer an afternoon of bowling with your family for FREE!
On Sunday, February 23rd from 3pm-5pm, Brownsburg Bowl will be open for anyone who would like to come enjoy family time. The HCSATF and Brownsburg Bowl are happy to provide 2 free games, free shoe rental, and raffle prizes throughout the event!
HCSATF member agencies will also have resource tables setup throughout the bowling alley so you can meet and network with the people who provide prevention, law enforcement, education, treatment, and recovery resources here in Hendricks County. We hope to see you there!
Any questions can be directed to Chase Cotten, President of the HCSATF at 317-745-9618.
