(DANVILLE, IND. – March 31, 2025) The Hendricks County Master Gardeners have announced the lineup for speakers and presentations during their 38th annual Gardening for All Ages event, which will be held on April 26, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds & Conference Complex (Danville, Indiana) in the Hendricks Power Exposition Hall.
Beginning at 9:15 a.m., Hendricks County Master Gardeners and show exhibitors will present educational programs, which are all also free to attend. Sessions will include:
- 9:15 a.m.: Colletta Kosiba — Choose Your Weapon—Garden Tools Every Gardener Should Have
- 10:15 a.m.: Laura Graham — Rain Gardens
- 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.:- Tom Stetser —Managing Unwanted Garden Visitors
- 11:15 a.m.: John Chapin — Planting Native Perennial Flowers for Succession Blooming
- 12:15 p.m.: Beth Frailey — Crafting Concrete Leaves from Your Garden
- 1:30 p.m.: Jeremy Maxwell — Growing a Green Thumb – Gardening with Children
- 2:30 p.m.: Martha Rardin — Gardening for Good Nutrition – You’re on Solid Ground
Gardening for All Ages is a free-admission event. There will be garden-related vendors and community groups with plants, garden décor, bird-watching supplies, as well as a children’s booth with garden-related activities. Attendees can pick up free vegetable and flower seeds, along with trees from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Free trees (available on a first-come basis) will include Shagbark Hickory, Pawpaw, Persimmon, Tulip Tree, Gray Dogwood and American Plum. Many of these native trees are difficult to find at local nurseries. In addition, two food trucks, Matchbox Barbeque and Hot Dogs to Go by Uncle Zo, will offer lunch options.
