SUMMARY:Avon Education Foundation 4th Annual “Supply It Forward”
DESCRIPTION:AVON\, IN (June 25\, 2025) – The Avon Education Foundation (AEF) is proud to announce the 4th annual Supply It Forward event\, taking place on Saturday\, July 19th at Avon Middle School North. Designed to support Avon students who qualify for free or reduced lunch\, this year’s event has reached a new milestone—with a record 1\,540 students registered to receive free backpacks and school supplies for the 2025–2026 academic year. \n\n\n\nEach participating student will be paired with a volunteer “personal shopper” to select a backpack and hand-pick their supplies\, making the experience both practical and empowering. \n\n\n\n“This backpack event is about more than just school supplies—it’s about empowering every student to start the year with confidence\,” said Jayda Sommers\, event co-chair. “Together\, we’re building a stronger\, more supported community one backpack at a time.” \n\n\n\nThe initiative is made possible through the generosity of Avon residents who donate supplies and make financial contributions\, along with the dedication of hundreds of volunteers who run the event. SUMMARY:Town of Avon National Night Out Against Crime
DESCRIPTION:In 2015\, the Avon Police Department began participating in the National Night Out Against Crime community event.  As our event has expanded over the past 10+ years\, our donors and sponsors include local and national companies who donate everything we need to facilitate a 100% free event for Avon families!  We are proud to share that our 2024 event hosted 4\,000 guests who enjoyed free food\, free drinks\, free attractions\, and interaction with over 70 vendors from our area! \n\n\n\nWe are happy to share that the first hour of our event every year is dedicated to sensory time\, in an effort to ensure that all of our guests have an opportunity to enjoy our many attractions\, vendors\, and games! You can follow us on social media to learn more about this event every year as we will post information regarding our 2025 event that will be held on Thursday\, July 24th 2025 from 5pm to 9pm at Avon High School! \n\n\n\nOur event planning committee includes several of our officers\, as well as fellow department heads and employees with the Town of Avon. This event is organized each and every year in the effort to establish and enhance our community relations with the community that we serve!
