SUMMARY:B&O Trail Association Trail Mixer at Tilden Trailhead
DESCRIPTION:Brownsburg\, Indiana\, April 17\, 2026 – The B&O Trail Association (BOTA) invites the community to a Trail Mixer event on Saturday\, April 26\, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Tilden Trailhead\, where the B&O Trail meets County Road 500 East. \n\n\n\nThe event will celebrate National Trails Day and introduce the B&O Trail’s new branding as part of the Greater Indy Trailways network. Attendees will have an opportunity to connect with fellow trail users\, learn more about BOTA’s construction plans and the expanding regional trail system\, and experience one of the trail’s key access points. The Tilden Trailhead was renovated in 2025 and now features ample parking as well as the Homeward Bound sculpture. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBOTA will offer complimentary swag on a first-come\, first-served basis\, including hats featuring the new B&O Trail logo. Light refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon. \n\n\n\nAt 2 p.m.\, participants are invited to join a group walk from the Tilden Trailhead to the White Lick Creek Bridge\, offering a guided opportunity to enjoy the trail and connect with others in the community. \n\n\n\nThe Tilden Trailhead serves as an important access point along the B&O Trail\, which continues to grow as part of a larger vision to connect communities across central Indiana. As a component of the Greater Indy Trailways\, the B&O Trail plays a key role in linking regional destinations and expanding recreational opportunities. \n\n\n\nThe B&O Trail Association is a nonprofit\, all-volunteer organization founded in 1993 to create a recreational trail along the abandoned Baltimore & Ohio Railroad corridor. \n\n\n\nTo learn more or get involved\, visit botrail.org and follow them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/botrail/.

The Avon-Washington Township Public Library (AWTPL) is proud to announce its second Porch Party with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS)\, happening on Friday\, May 15th\, from 5:30 to 7:30. This is a very special event with activities for all ages\, and for which the library will be staying open past its usual Friday hours\, until 8 PM. \n\n\n\nLast year\, over 500 fans came to the library to pick up porching kits\, attend a presentation from the Harrison Center\, meet INDYCAR driver Callum Ilott\, and check out the activities from the Speedway and their partners. This May will be another great opportunity to pick up a kit with everything you need to decorate for your own Porch Party (while supplies last)\, as well as play some Brickyard Crossing-themed mini golf\, mess around with a racing simulator\, get registered for Summer Reading\, and more. No registration is required to come to this completely free event; add it to your calendar from avonlib.librarycalendar.com.  \n\n\n\nGet ready for the Porch Party by registering for the AWTPL Hoosier Reading Challenge\, which is available now through May 8th\, for all ages. Readers log time spent reading or listening to books\, as well as various Indianapolis 500 and Hoosier author themed activities\, to earn raffle tickets which can be put towards prizes like tickets to Indy 500 qualifying weekend at the track\, Indianapolis Motor Speedway merch\, and a 2025 Indy 500 program signed by the entire field of drivers! The participant who logs the most reading during the challenge will also win a bonus prize – the Borg-Reader trophy\, which will be presented to them during the Porch Party.
