Positions are open for the transportation team at the Danville Community School Corporation, with different route options available.
Director of Transportation Dana Parsons said that the benefits of being a bus driver with the school corporation are numerous.
“Our benefits include having the same schedule as your children – fall break, Thanksgiving break, spring break and summer break,” Parsons explained. “You’re getting paid to be their cheerleader by taking extra-curricular activity trips.”
Bus drivers are also eligible for health, dental and vision insurance after signing a full route contract and have access to retirement plans.
Danville schools offer additional incentives such as training drivers for free with a one year commitment, paying for the first Department of Transportation physical, a $60 value, as well as paying for the first drivers test, a $100 value.
“The best part of this job is working with children every day,” Parsons added.
To get your training started, contact Parsons at 317-745-6875. Parsons will also be available to answer questions and provide more information at the school’s booth during the Hendricks County 4-H Fair July 16 to 20 in the Exhibit Hall.
